I'll bet he had to run all over the neighborhood prior to shuffling off that mortal coil.

You'll know where he's been for sure.

No kidding. How do most cartoonists get work? Does anyone really find Garfield funny? Or Cathy? Or Drabble?

About 10 or 12 years ago, my friend wrote a pretty funny gag letter to Bill Keane, telling him how he thought the Mom's hair style was completely outdated and that it should be changed. Keane wrote back a couple of weeks later and told him he agreed and sent him an original drawing previewing that week's Sunday comic which introduced the Mom's new do.

I don't find the Family Circus funny, but I think he was a simple guy who did well doing something he loved (drawing). I can respect that.

I got the respect but it was like kinda lame. like a sitcom with a moral at the end over and over in a circular panel. I'm jaded haha. SOCIETY MADE ME THIS WAY.

I gotta give the man credit for churning out a comic everyday for 50 years. Plus this kind of old-timey, wholesome comic is so out of place now that it's a little endearing to me.

If I can live to be 89 doing something that makes me relatively happy, I'll be ok with that, even if everyone else thinks what I'm doing is lame. You know, stuff like making posters.
