    Default Old Copper Litho Plate

Check this out... I found this plate in an antique shop today. It's probably from the 40's or 50's or at least that's what the tag said.

What's cool about it is that it illustrates the printing process from concept to final. Stuff we all do every day.

I've worked on the plate in Photoshop and reversed the image so you see what it looks like and read it, almost like you would be able to if reading a print from it.

There's a special prize to anyone who can tell me where it's from.

I don't think it's a lithoplate. It's most likely for a letterpress relief style printing.

That large camera exposure unit is beautiful. Used one in highschool, don't see em used anymore. You lazy jerks all started getting your transparencies digitally printed n stuff...

Your right. It's a letterpress plate.

Showed it to a friend with a letterpress last night and he freaked.

We'll be running some prints from it in short order.

    Can't wait... It's such a cool image.

Here's a link to a print a friend of mine ran the other day on his litho/etching press.

    Pretty damn cool.

That's pretty rad. That plate is in real good shape.
