    No? I see no reason why that couldn't work on sand just as easily as a tabletop! The only thing I've never understood about this concept is how it knows *which* keys your fingers are on, when some are "behind" others.

    it probably won't work on the beach, because the sun will block the laser beam.

    That's what umbrellas are for, don't you know? Although, any shadow would probably work. Just turn your back to the sun and it should work just fine, seems to me!

    Sand gets... everywhere. I wouldn't bring any gadget I cared about to the beach.

    No place for pubes and chip crumbs to hide. That's nice.

    I would also imagine you could program the keyboard to have letters anywhere. We could finally make some headway in ditching the obsolete qwerty layout which was design to slow typing down so typewriters wouldn't get jammed.
