Default Have you guys had this problem before?

So I just figured out that there is a ebay store selling my prints for twice as much as I sell them for. They don't physically have the prints...they just order from me when they sell them on ebay. This annoys me because one, I am the only one doing work here and they make a profit from it, and 2 I have a notice on my site that says orders can take up to 2-4 weeks for delivery and the ebay seller does not....so i have this person emailing me every few days asking about stuff. Has anyone else here ran into this? In one aspect I appreciate the sales, but in another I am annoyed at the situtation.

I know it sucks but what happen after you sell them is up to the other person.

Just like the toy nuts that by a toy that is a small limited run and sell them for 3 times as much.

    maybe I'm wrong

Yeah the thing is, I am shipping directly to the buyer...this person never even touches the posters or has them in their possession. That whats irks me.

What's really awesome is when people ask you to ship directly to an address that turns out to be their buyer's, literally having you handle their fulfillment.

Whatevz. This has only ever happened to me with posters for one band in particular, and in that case I've limited sales to 2 per customer anyway.
The whole thing is a bit phishy, but also entertaining because as far as I can tell my shit doesn't flip, so people's profits on it are hilariously minimal if anything.
If it happened in any significant volume I might care.

That is a standard practice with a lot of ebay sellers. They usually do that with wholesale available goods where the companies don't care if someone is marking up their shit as long as they are moving units. This seems to overstep the boundries though. You are under no obligation to sell to this guy or to make good on his sales of items that he doesn't own. If he wants to make a profit off your work, the least he can do is buy in bulk, store the stuff and ship it his own damn self when he sells one.

If you are shipping directly the buyer then put all your contact info in the box and keep the price the same and get rid of the middle man

yeah what kills me is that its mostly for my Avett Brothers posters and those fans/collectors are always the most patient and nice people I deal with...I really cant stand the seller making money off of absolutely nothing at all but listing it on ebay and taking advantage of the fans.

just out of curiosity, i just looked up a poster on ebay. YAH! i made it onto ebay!
but yes, does sort of suck to see that they are selling for 3 times as much as i am legally able to sell mine for under contract. oh well.

the whole you shipping to their customers and not buying until they get an order - that is trash. just hold onto it and you will get a buyer that desperately wants it in their home and is stoked to find it. you can't always know what a buyer is going to do, but since you know about this guy, might as well not be his money-making bitch.
