I always liked how the Judge Dredd comic writers predicted a lot of things that are commonplace now. One of their stories was about how you could clone yourself and keep the clone in a warehouse, living with other clones....and human corpses were sent to be recycled for raw materials.

My cousin was teasing me along time ago and told me fully synthetic humans were real and were happening today, it totally messed my head up.
