    Default Custom camper van art

Hi! Although I realise this is a bit of a wild stab in the dark considering this is a gig posters forum, but some of you guys appear to be practical types and there seem to be a few vehicle geeks and old hippies around... (meant as a compliment)

I've had a request from a dude who bought one of my posters for a quote on doing a custom illustration paint job on his 1974 camper van. It's something I'd love to do, but haven't got a clue what paint you would use, whether painting with a brush onto a vehicle is good practice, whether it would be absolutely necessary to prime the surface of the van first, whether you would need some kind of varnish to finish it to stop it chipping off, etc.

Does anyone here have any experience of doing custom art on vehicles? I'd love some advice if so.

Right, I'm off to look for a camper van geeks forum to ask the same thing...
