The fact that once you purchase a plane ticket, you're submitting to all rules and regulations associated with air travel leaves you only two choices. Fly and put up with it, or find alternate modes of travel.

Yes you can protest and shake your fists at the corporate interests (the only reason why the machines and subsequently the enhanced pat downs are there, not security) of former DHS head Chertoff. I really don't think they are going to care.

For me, I'll still fly and choose getting my nuts juggled a bit vs. cancer... but when traveling with my kids, I will probably take a train or drive depending on distance. For however long those options are available without being radiated or felt up.

i lived outside of belfast when i was five and would get searched for bombs going into woolworth's. for most people it was just a routine part of life during "the troubles".

All you need to ask is, "How do the Israelis handle it?"

Locked cabin doors and bomb-sniffing dogs. End of story. None of this patdown or scanner bullshit. We aren't in any more danger of dying on a flight than we were 10 years ago. You're more likely to die on the drive to the airport.

I think this body search decision on the TSA's part might be the final indignity that drives people to push back and fight them. I certainly hope so, I hate taking off my shoes.

i have a question for those of you who buy the plot line of "terrorists who hate us"... have you ever met a "terrorist"? ever seen one? ever been to a meeting? ever barely escaped with your life at the hands of a "terrorist"? had any encounter whatsoever with anyone who might possibly fit the description of a "terrorist"?

Or have you just been told about them from the tv...?

If that's the case, then you better check under your bed for monsters too, i saw a show on tv all about it...

other then who you've been told is responsible for something by a government, and ALL governments lie (and our government has a long history of blatant lying), what proof do you have of who is responsible for anything that takes place in world events other then an a long line of degenerative hearsay...?

Hearsay which wouldn't hold up in court, but it does hold up if it's coming from someone in a suit behind a podium with presidential seals on it in front of a bunch of reporters and tv cameras.

it's all psychological theater, which they pump into every home in multiple rooms, in every bar, at every airport terminal, at every cardio machine at the gym, it's even in your pocket on your phone now... everywhere, just to make sure you are on top of the next act in the play and respond accordingly.
