Did anyone see the Trib's Chrissy Pronger cover? I couldn't believe that shit was real. I can't believe a paper would print up something like that, I don't believe I've ever seen a paper do that.

I came running in from yard work with wifey yesterday all sweaty and pissed i had missed the first two periods, then I went through all the channels figuring I had fucked up with the time zone diff, then finally looked at the paper and realized.

Game is today, not yesterday.

Well OK then. today it's Go Flyers. I want to see a game 7. It's tough to know who to root for when your team is out. As much as I like Chicago (uniform, BC players, cool coach, GP heartland, going to a game with Steve W) they DID beat my boys, and like my Nancy says, part of you wants to see Hawks go undefeated, thus proving Vancouver had something because they spanked them twice.....but on the other hand, they beat the Schmucks, so f#$% 'em, they need to go down.

So now I've been finding I have to defend myself when I tell everyone why I don't root for the Hawks. Hockey people understand it, it's the plethora of woodwork fans who cause me trouble. Would any true blooded Hawks fan EVER root for the Wings? I don't think so.

yeah, but we would never live in detroit either!

i grew up rooting for notre dame even though i never went there and none of my family did. it's just from following what my old man was rooting for every weekend. but when i lived in arizona people were pissed that i was still rooting for notre dame and not the u of a. who wants a fan that changes allegiances based on where they're living at the time?

the trib sucks, it's basically become a slightly cleaned up version of the red eye with obituaries. that was a high school newspaper gimmick to run. they should let the team talk trash or even the fans. a newspaper should never be the source of bulletin board material. report the scores and shut up.

Frankly I'm tired of the media here right now. I wish the Hawks would just win it so I don't have to listen to Paula Faris and Daryl Hawks pretend to know what the fuck they're talking about in regards to hockey anymore.

Internet may kill th traditional newspapers, but they won't go down without first giving up all dignity and integrity.

I saw the pic on the internet, that's funny as shit.

But they may have provoked the flyers into beating their asses. If flyers win tonight, Pronger should pull on a skirt for the pregame skate in Chicago.

Are you too young to remember the Dead Things? Or Ron Duguay? Reed Larson and Tiger Williams?

Sure, I loved the Wings back then, but I rooted for Chicago, too. A lot of Bruins fans were also Whalers fans, FYI.

Nah dude, I'm 38. Can't forget Ogrodnick. Gallant. I remember well. I just can't root for any other team other than where I grew up....that's just me. If they suck, they're still my team. I never understood the just "picking a team" kinda fan, it never made any sense to me...there's no real "heart" involved if that makes any sense.

If I didn't have to listen to Detroit Sucks chants constantly in my ear, maybe I'd feel a little differently about the Hawks.
