that's a great image. and i hope whoever is selling them has a huge "don't touch the merchandise" sign posted. something tells me people at this year's sdcc willl be painted blue like their favorite avatar character. blue--fingerprints a plenty.

so, what's the inscription say?

The beginning part "D M DVX" is either an incorrect date in Roman numerals, or it's abbreviations... "D" could mean "condemned or sentenced" as well as "Lord, Dominus" or something like that (or 1000 in Roman numerals). "M" could mean "Maximus" or 500 in Roman numerals. DVX could be incorrect Roman numerals, or it could be "Dux," meaning "commander, leader, general," etc.

"Mortuus" is dead... "potens" is powerful or mighty... "erat" is a form of "to be" (or exist)... "insolentia" I'm not sure of... "occis" is murder... and "eta" I'm not sure of.

So I guess it means something about being a murdered commander.
