    Default Anyone remember Gestetners?

    They were 70's copy machines... you inked them... my parents had one but I have no idea how they worked... I was trying to explain one to my ladyfriend and realized I'm an idiot... anyone?

    Yes! These were RELIC photocopy machines, made in england heavy dudty cast metal and all that shit. NOT A PRESS. Very cool, and un-practicle in todays times. If your looking for one as a museum peice or conversation starter.. that would be the only reason to purchase one. The company is still in business making printers and copiers.

    Do you know how they worked? I remember helping my dad crank out hundreds of newsletters but I can't recall how the transfer was done.. I know it wasn't movable type...

    I also remember that the ink smelled of olives... made me hate olives up until a few years ago..
