They are around. problem is... no air traffic infrastructure. Search the web a little anf you will see that they ready to go to market pretty much the minute everything goes in to place.

I have books with the real photos and such. all that delta wing research by the germans was handed over to lockheed martin and eventually became the current generation of stealth fighters and bombers.
