MattT you know He hung out with an owl? ...so funny that by your own admittance owls are sneaking into lots of other pieces but are excluded here... a;so I approve of the haitian voodoo markings - celtic knotwork might have been obvious - the mishmash of hiatian lore can be parallelled with the pagan/celt/who the hell knows origins of that character and the warlock who made him - plus knotwork would be too heavy for those trademark pizzoaw colours of yours.
