It seems every piece I do over the last 5 years has thinner and thinner layers of washes. Sometimes 15 or 20 layers. I only build up the areas I want the viewer to focus on. Even those areas are really thin. You can't really see the paint on the canvas at all. I'm really happy with where my paintings are going. For sure.
