Here's something I made this weekend. It's a CD cover for a mixed CD fundraiser. The local college radio station (CJSW) asked me to come up with a fun design. The title will likely be going in the bottom right corner...

totally getting that vibe.

knnth- i think i might be able to direct you to a few very lucrative opportunities for illustration. Specifically greeting cards. PM me for some
more details.

wow. that's awesome...and so true. i think the most satisfying part of artwork is the PROCESS. it's ritualistic.

i think it's important to have an appreciation for all sorts of art. i'm not a design guy, i've made exactly three gigposters so far, and i have virtually no idea how to use a computer to make art (you can ask my computer friends who i torture with stupid questions about this).

i like it here (gigposters, that is) because i think there's a lot of interesting stuff going on, art-wise. graphic-wise, illustration-wise...it's pretty intimidating to me. do i love everything everyone posts? nope. but i can appreciate the technique and talent behind a lot of it. i'm sure not everyone loves everything i do, either.

i'm not sure what my point is, i just thought i'd share the thought. plus, i love you all.

i have a belly full of pizza. i must vacuum the house now.

also, i'm going to look at knnth's site again.

over and out!

I agree with Mictron (sorry for originally mispelling your name). The first time he showed something, it wasn't something I thought I'd like, and now I look forward to seeing his work. I find myself seeing stuff that I never thought I'd like, and I love it. I post feedback on work when I think it's amazing work or if people ask for it. Honestly, I really enjoy seeing a lot of the work that I see here. Just because I'm poor (I seriously don't work my jobs that much lately so I can work toward my show) and don't show my appreciation by buying everything I'd like to buy doesn't mean I don't like a lot of the work I'm seeing here.

I just honestly don't know where a lot of this came from. It really was a shitty day for me on this website. I wasn't asking for creative validation from my work (because trust me, it's there and I don't necessarily feel like I need to be singled out from everybody to explain my work when nobody else here is doing that), I was asking for feedback on the work itself. Is it working or not? I think it is, but much like a parent sees no wrong in their child, I'm trying not to see much wrong in the work I've spent the better half of the last 2 1/2 months on.
