I brought friends along to check it out with me, when they saw they line they decided not to wait. I was kind of at their mercy, and left with them.

It was a major bummer. Time to go bitch in the bitching thread.

    Hmmm... Just saw this thread.

MoMA is wonderful. They rotate their collection constantly. If you don't like any of their zillion exhibits, come back the next day and they'll install something different.

(funny that anyone from California would criticize a NYC museum... I've been to the SFMoMA... Just sayin')

For a museum that doesn't even boast to me a "modern art museum" The MET has a nicer collection in their modern wing than any museum in the States, outside NYC.

That said, MoMA and The MET are both friggin' huge. Either one too large to fully take in, in a whole day each.

Then you've got The Guggenheim, The Whitney, The Neue Museum... not to be confused with The New Museum of Contemporary Art, The EyeBeam, others I'm leaving out and surely forgetting and and add links but I'm posting from my iPhone... plus one of the world's largest private gallery scene outside of Paris.

Anyway... sorry MoMA disappointed you Frank. It's truly somewhere near the top of the long list of thing that keep me in NYC.

The Whitney was completely awesome when I was there last, whereas the Guggenheim was a huge disappointment.
