Current Spammer Issues

Hey Guys,

I'm sure all the regular users on this site have noticed the increase in forum spam over the last few weeks.

I did some digging into it, and tried many solutions - but I haven't solved it yet.

The deal is - its not just GigPosters.com - its a global spam issue hitting almost every site out there.

For now - please don't respond when a spammer bumps 20 old threads to the top. Just let me or a moderator know and we will deal with it (our names are bright white in the userlist at the bottom of the front page).

I hope to find the right solution to this very soon.

when someone uses the report / alert button ---> a very helpful little email gets sent out to clay & the mods with a link right to that post so it can be found ASAP. and you can even add a little note, like: 'you goober!'.

I have always wondered why people respond to spammers around here. it makes no sense.
