Once you learn all the quirks of the 3000, it's fairly reliable. I only use Epson brand ink - I get poorer results with the aftermarket inks on my 7600, but I have no choice as it was set up for the pigment inks.
Also getting the 3000 fixed isn't that big a pain in the ass.
