Just dress up and be confident. It's not going to kill you to dress up.

When I met my wife. Who is an ex-stoner/hung out with vato's type. She looks white but she's mexican. I had my eye on her but, at the same time I thought she's way to pretty to even give a guy like me a chance. I use to dress pretty much in levi's and t-shirts. Anyway I thought what the hell I'll get dressed up and kind of see what happens. She told me it made a big difference and she started to look at me in a different light. Kind of like , Hey he's not that bad looking after all. Now remember my wife said, When she first saw me she thought I looked "Hardcore" and I do have that side of me.
Just the way I grew up.
