It kind of does sound like a bit of an inside job. The hidden book box isn't that common, unless you're stealing weed from high school kids in the 70's. Their selection of prints was interesting too... Hell, the fact that they even took prints at all is interesting. If they walked right by electronics equipment and cds/dvds (easily fenced items) and took something that most people wouldn't assume had any value... Hey, wait a minute... Check the classifieds on EBeans. They weren't Emeks were they?
And what's up with the cops? Possessing one of the items stolen from your house should be plenty probable cause for a search warrant. Maybe it's different in Canuckistan, but that doesn't sound right to me.
