Default Beans, beans, they're good for your Art

Hey folks. The people at Mugshots Coffeehouse, one of the Screens 'N' Spokes venues, really loved the show we put on in September. They contacted me to see if I would help them put together a new art show there for the coming year. I figure in addition to screens, ink, and beer, coffee maybe a necessary ingredient to all the work that is posted on GP, so I wanted to gauge interests here.

We're looking for artists who love, rely and are even inspired by Coffee

Mugshots Coffeehouse is organizing a coffee-infused art show in Philadelphia for June. Mugshots (and Independents Coffee Cooperative – Independents Coffee Cooperative ::) will be working collectively to raise $16,000 for the Peruvian farmers who grow the coffee sold as our house coffee (Independents Peruvian Select). The farmers are undertaking an ambitious project to build a solar powered drying facility (to dry the beans after they are harvested). This will allow for the farmers to improve both the quality and quantity of the coffee they grow, by protecting it from the frequent rains in the region.

We're hoping the show will feature art inspired by all aspects of coffee, from the growing and harvesting of the beans to the simple pleasures of a morning cup, and anything in between.

We are asking for 12 copies of your print, and we will frame one copy ourselves for the show, and sell the rest on the Mugshots website. On top of the 12 show prints, your print run can be as large as you want, and you can sell those prints however you please.

The deadline to turn in prints will be May 1.

100% of the profits made through the show at Mugshots will go to Cooperativa San Fernando, a farmer-owned organic coffee cooperative located high in the Andes Mountains near Cusco, Peru.

If you would like to participate or have any questions please PM or email me sam dot verrill @ gmail dot com

Thanks
