While I was in Middle School, one of my classmates spent gym class heaving full-court shots. Towards the end of class, our Home-Ec teacher was walking across the back of the gym and took a full-court shot to her head. She went into a coma for a few days, and ended up with some serious brain damage from that.
Looks like the cheerleader got off easy. Not so sure about the poor little kid.
