Well, I have to admit that I am not immediately prepared to supply them with a contract that lists usage rights and all of that - because I've never been in this position before. But I guess that I need to get educated about that kind of thing if I'm going to continue to do this kind of work so I'm trying to figure out exactly how to go about that.
As far as how much I am expecting for publishing rights and how much I sold the painting for, this really isn't that much about the money to me - I just don't want people reproducing my work without my permission. I also don't know what is a standard fee for publishing rights for this kind of thing. Another thing I could use advice on... For that matter since this was in a gallery show, I really did not create this particular piece for the intent of being reproduced. I do that enough in my day job and you can HIRE ME for that. So I'm not sure how I feel about it being used in this way anyway...
