He used such a way with a man coming out of the water almost like a rebirth of some sort. But he still has a little red on the fingers maybe implying that the image is not totaly clean or the sins are not all washed away.
"I want to be on your tv so that you might notice me "

I think the type on this is perfect for these bands. These types of bands use this kind of type treatment all the time. I also think the design is pretty tight on this one as well. The illo draws your eye up to the headline nicely.
I think in the context of the bands it's for that it works really well. But what do I know about all that design stuff.
yeah, it really baffles me what a good artist hess is, yet his design work is never very good. i'm sure he could do better, but it almost seems like he just doesn't think about it, and just worries about the drawings, which are impressive, but could be even more impressive if they were more integrated into a well-balanced design.
damn that is a nice
drawering
plastk sez -
but hey, what do I know?
he knows quite a bit of that designy stuff
and dirt from old austin scenes
gimmee gimmee
the lack of any cohesiveness with the type looses me with this one. If it is silkscreened (i doubt it) that would be a feat in itself. THe illustration is not bad - but I look at the FULL design of a poster and this just does not get there for me.
