You guys are trying to trick me: to lure me into your web of deceit; but I'm far too sharp to fall for such parlor trickery"- I choose to counter with riddles and mysteries of my own/ Not to mention one of the oldest methods of confusing one's opponents= A SEVERE MISUSE OF PUNCTUATION.
Hey Andy - I am trying to say that this looks nothing like any of my work - I just fell prey to the flurry of folks mentioning the similarities and commented when I wish I hadn't because I am not concerned in any way shape or form with any reference and will take the designer's word that they had not seen any of the posters mentioned.
For the record this looks NOTHING like any of my posters - but numerous people that saw it pointed out that it was odd that it shared my type solution for the same band, which is custom and not a true font per se and that it shared a concept with another of my posters (a fairly well known one for John Guilt with a businessman in a suit with a dog's head.) If it is all coincidence that is fine and if it is not such a coincidence that is fine too.
I was going to let it go at my one comment but since you didn't see the earlier poster for the same band; my type is scanned from an old spec book and then custom scaled and individually kerned yet still looks just like yours including the relationships between letters which is seemingly odd at best. Maybe you didn't remember seeing it while you were looking over my poster with the guy in a suit with a bear - I mean dog's head...
