I would not have picked this as a Chantry poster. I really like Arts Stuff, but this I wouldnt have picked.The text placement doesnt really work for me.Everything looks cool cept the band name placements. maybe Im just missing the chi of this poster.

Hey all, This has gotten off track I think. The discussion with Art, I believe, on the 'CURTAINS' poster was more about design as design vs. design as message and if the absence of a heavy dialogue in a graphic piece make it less succesful than say one with a stronger voice. The support I have given Jason is against all those who think he somehow 'copied' AA. I dont think that argument holds at all and for that Cody you are making my point, I agree. But, Art was merely jumping on my mis-use of the 30% rule as flawed and misleading, as it is - so I added changes, and not really ever dissin' Jason for having been inspired by AA. I hope this clearification can end any angst because I feel the whole discussion of Jason's poster and Inspiration is a good one...a community should be inspiring to each other...I truely feel as time goes on he will distance himself from everyone else and hone is unique individual style and aesthetic. adios, plastk

cody - what you are doing is obvious - you're trying to trash me. we'll don't bother. you don't have to be a genius to see that i didn't invent this look (it's actually based on stanley mouse's monster art - who is the guy that roth DIRECTLT ripped for rat fink - so your argument is even lamer than thou). this sort of culture fuck is exactly what interests me about grahic design. it's part of the dialog. there have been NO new ideas in this dialog for nearly fifty years - so your attack is kinda stupid,no? so let's go with this theme (over in the 'pirating' thread over on the other board). why don't you post your thought about this whole turf? at least you can try to trash me in a more permanent board.
