in Alameda & Contra Costa counties they imported a predator for eucalyptus but then that started taking out endangered plants so they imported a predator for the predator
Thats funny! They are actually fire bombs. The oil explodes when hit by fire, thats how they germinate, and thus they're a pivotal reason why bush fires in California can spread so quick.
for whippingtom , They thought they would be able to use the lumber is what I heard . After they found out they couldn't they figured that this fast growing tree would make great windbreaks for the Coastal farmlands
Eucalyptus oil was added to the inks on some of these - not sure how long it'll last but they smell pretty good right now.
I know there are no snakes in NZ - that was sort of the point - just trying to scare the locals.
