i thought that you thought that micah was "stealing' a client away from you. that's what i thought that you thought that i thought we thought back when we thought it but not when we think it now.
yer a dope.
geez, scrojo. i APOLOGIZE for misreading your post. even though i still can't understand what you were trying to say, i apparently hurt your FEELINGS, as well as the FEELINGS of phillarts and several others. i will try to do better in the future. i hope that you and other more properly mannered folks (like phillarts) will continue to correct my mistakes and try to keep me on the path of sensitive emotional sensitivity. ok? thanks for sharing.
nice poster, micah. where do you get your ideas? amazing. blows my mind.
you're the kind of guy who crashes a party and collects money for a new keg and then leaves and is never seen again. a laughing fratboy douchebag.
man, i'd definitely kick you out of the party. personally boot ya.
yeah, sean's an old buddy. he and i met almost 20 years ago when we began trading clip art. he even moved out to st. louis for a time and even lived next door to me while he was there. in fact he and i (and jamie sheehan) sat in our living room and watched 911 together.
ah, the memories...
sean's the best.
calm down, dude. don't freak out. i misunderstood what you wrote. hell, i've gone back and re-read it several times and i still misunderstand what was going on in that dialog. no big deal.
i was just getting all negative and philosophical about clients' weird behavior and then i thought i'd try to help pin down who worked with the client first. why the freak out? got nothing better to do?
i really don't care. honest. geez.
only vol. 1 of church & state? crazy...
my buddy kevin is a buddy of sean's and he says that sean's place is just plastered w/ found imagery.
file cabinets/drawers/walls...just covered.
how much of that did you contribute?
"then what was all this "talk" earlier in the thread about somebody waltzing in on your client? perhaps i misunderstood the nature of your comment/complaint."
that was YOU talking ! dude!!! honestly, that's kinda f*cking scarey art !!! if you misunderstood...:
scrojo: "thanks man. not trying to steal any of your gigs i'd just like to do something for the troops ...."
micah: "i didn't think you were tryin to steal a gig at all man..."
what was so confusing ????
Metal Sanaz is on there...pretty tiny though...under Mencia.
quick turnaround = grab your craphound...right? this one was fun to do, but i wish i'd had more time...that's probably a familiar story for pretty much everyone on here though...
face it, kids. there is almost zero loyalty out there from clients. if you have a client that is honestly collaborating with you, hold onto them. they're worth their weight in gold.
99% of my clients jump ship to just about any goober who walks int he door with a portfolio. it's been true since i started. they become infatuated with the power of creating cool design and then they start devouring everything they trip across like a kid in a candy store. the bigger a "business" they are, the less likely they will be honest and loyal to you - a mere cheapo designer (which they view as a low-level decoration process that can be dumped on a whim). no complaint, just truth (as i've experienced it over 35 years of doing this stuff).
like i said, if you get an honest collaborative relationship with a client - maintain it even to the point of self-sacrifice. it's too valuable to lose.
i didn't think you were tryin to steal a gig at all man...
least i could do is put some feelers out there for ya if you're tryin to do something for the troops...
also, if anyone wants to catch this show, it's being streamed tomorrow on myspace 1pm CST:
micah does all the Myspace posters.
isn't Z-Trip totally anti-war..
all the live albums i have of his are extremely political...the exact opposite views of carlos mencia... should be a fun show. bring the troops home..
