huh, i was just reading through this and realized that I haven't used black ink on a poster since 2007. I guess the next one will have to be none more black.
there was a "hipster" clothing shop in seattle in the early 90's that used this as their "logo". the tshirts with it on it were a big hit for a few months. their "logo" was plastered totally covering their shop window. couldn't miss it.
this is a rather well known piece of old matchbook clip. seems to me that it was accompanied by a piece of text that said something funny about having a happy day - and dogs. can't remember, though.
i'm always surprised when a piece of clip as famous as this takes so long to wiggle into the gp community. so much of the imagery here is lifted so liberally from so many well known sources, and yet this particular one managed to escape until this late date. how does that happen? mysteries of time and space...
