i think they just ask around and see whats hot at that moment, they're so fickle ain't they. theres a review of an oasis gig in a melody maker i have from 94 and it absolutely pans the new fledgling brit pop scene as being just another circle turning and another wave of small faces wannabe's who wear adidas trainers and talk in a mockney accent etc, completely slagged oasis, saying this has got to stop, this new "scene" that has blinkered the eyes of so many with half arsed rock, and whaddya know,within a year they're hailing oasis and britpop as the new saviours of music itself, a complete u-turn, i stopped buying that rag years ago. |

yeah i actually vaguely remember mansun - that was late 90's, wasn't it? they got a good bit of press stateside too. never got much beyond that, though - at least as far as i can remember.
i'm still convinced the music press decides their new darlings with a dartboard. |

cheers for the info dude, i think i can imagine how they sound,or thereabouts! ever heared of mansun? they were pretty big over here for a bit, they suck relative to how big they became, which was pretty big but i saw them supporting the sultans of ping fc when i was at college, never heared of em before in my life, and within six months they were on top of the pops, what the fuck?! |

they're a pittsburgh-based "world beat" kinda hippie band. they don't command the same kinda audience Phish, etc. do, though they actually had a song on the american charts a few years back...
i saw their first show at the coffee house on CMU campus. 2 years later they were playing the Civic Arena. damn college kids. |
