This beauty hangs on my wall. I only recently realized that this show was the night of the infamous September 11. I wonder what the mood was like in the crowd.
In reference to an earlier question, Jaime Cervantes did a poster for the Austin show. It also rules...I'll try to post it if I can get a pic.
I saw this show, wire sounded pretty good (for being a just a few years older than me), when the second song they played ended abruptly after 2 minutes, i was hooked. much more pink flaggish, than when i saw 10 years ago, the even played lowdown
Hoc sceptrum, quod ab arbore ut recisumst,
Nulla iam poterit virere fronde,
Sceptrum, quod pathicae petunt puellae,
Quod quidam cupiunt tenere reges,
Cui dant oscula nobiles cinaedi,
Intra viscera furis ibit usque
Ad pubem capulumque coleorum.
Double vision. Randomized Poster of the Week. I thought my eyes were going or someone had dosed. I was seeing double.
On a literary note. Vladimir Nabokov, along with writing books about pedophiles was an avid butterfly collector.
really nice Mike, subtle is a good way to put it...very calm and sedate - speaks volumes...and it is a very hard date to answer graphically, and I think you did so very tastefully.
wow, poster of the week,
what do you know.
when i heard wire was coming to portland, i thought i’d like to make a poster for that, when i found out the show was september 11, i wasn’t sure what to think. its a date that can’t be ignored, i felt i had to reference it in some way, but i didn’t want to be too heavy handed about it, there are some folks with work on this site, who’s subtle approach has really inspired me. thanx everyone
