I think this would work better if the "book" element of the design was at least more incorporated into the poster. Having the poster say "TEXTBOOK" right down the middle is particularly distracting. It's in larger type than the actual band and show information, and it solely serves as - an explanation to viewers who don't know what they're looking at?

no - this idea is pretty lame - i guess it would be nice to see "the poster (have) a purpose after its special purpose" - but this layout is detracting from its main purpose of promoting bands -
