Yeah Joel...
you draw the ladies with more honesty than I do. I suck at drawing women...hence why there are so few of them in my posters.
We STILL need to trade mah brotha. I've got a bunch of Adam hughes crap I wanna xerox for ya.
What are you talking about? Scrojo makes it tough for me! I hope that guy is older than me, then I wouldn't feel like such a lazy slug. Same thing with Goad.
The one thing you can't see in the jpg is that I used a colored pencil to shade the lineart before I did the coloring. So the shading looks like stippling or one of them old stone lithos.
Thanks bros...
Joel, color choice is weird for me. I originally had the skull green, the coat brown and the bground a bright orange. I had been staring at a lot of old stone litho prints in a book i picked up and subconciously was copying that. After I finished the poster and printed the club's copies...I realized how awful it looked. So i did a switcharoo with the colors, printed off the rest and gave the club some more and hoped that people didn't see the original one. None of this would matter to anyone but me.
All the text I had to put in the poster freaked me out. That was kind of an afterthought.
Misuer Ewing rocking my world yet again. Really nice atonal quality to the colors here without looking monochromatic. Do you spend alot of time thinking about the colors or just kind of drop in stuff and see how it works?
oh i'm not knocking them at all. i think it's good, but man... as i've said, ATDI represented a possible revolution to me.
i dig this poster muchly. gimmee. :-)
i just picked up the Sparta album. it sounds exactly as you'd expect it to - ATDI songs without Cedric and Omar's psychedelic touches. punches really hard, but doesn't quite stick the way the old band did.
if i can scrounge up the cash, i might actually dare the Fairlane to get me to phoenix for the show next month. i'm betting they're better live.
