well someone around here has impeccable taste in music(guybur)and the scan of this poster doesn't really do it any justice.
it's quite lover-ly in actuality.
three things:
it's simple
it's lovely
the flashing lights flarking rule if any of you freak punk twerps had any taste this whole message board would be about how flarking cool the flashing lights are and all like that and not about any posters or poster art but all about the flashing lights and where the change is and sweet release and flark all this other stuff cuz it's only about the lights. the flashing lights are ON.
I own this one, in fact I pulled it out of the garbage at a record store on Belmont, but not before somebody had stepped on it and left their big ugly Doc imprint all over it. Love this poster!
I'm sorry, you guys have A PROBLEM WITH SCHOOLHOUSE ROCKS!?!?!?!? If I didn't have to get orders out to my mind the Philly Phiend D Mayer I tell ya why yer lucky those cartoons were on (like seein how yaz wouldn't be able to be statin yer minds on this board without their subliminal subversion). Postergirl press, this werk is the jerk, the bomb in a palm fron, it rocks the hizzie for shizzie and puts speed in a tizzie. And "3" and "my hero zero" were both fantastic covers on the compilation, and the plastic cover marked the first time an American CD was release using the molded plastic look with stickers, a real innovation for designers.
hey shawny and standard i'm not saying "oh my poster should be poster f the week and not this" just kinda laughing with the oldster.
u don't win money and power from poster of da week.
it's just this REALLY don't knock my socks off at all , and lots of other new submissions do.
i guess it's a matter of taste..
like i said ok looking but bland.
i wonder if the illo was done by the designer..
i don't think it was
i think this flyer's rill nice. if it was hanging on a wall somewhere next to the suicide poster, i'd look at this one first. it's clean and looks cool and it looks like it's for a rockin' show. the suicide poster is clean and it looks cool but it looks like it's an advert for a play or a bit of performance art.
that said, the font on this poster is sorta stinky, but in general i quite like it.
this is poster of the week? oh...i really like it, and it's different from what i'm used to seeing and everything, but, if the suicide poster came out the same week...well er..yeah, it's hard to argue with the suicide poster.
nice! this is one of those posters that in a million years, i would not have thought of, but as soon as i saw it, i just slapped my head and thought, "why didn't i think of that!" really great. good call on the pink panther reference too!! the flashing lights are on! i love that band.
This is amazing.
simple, clean, elegant, fantastic use of limited colors, I wish I had the sophistication to do posters like that. it reminds me of a lighthearted version of something Saul Bass would do.
