My wife and I picked up the new Calexico EP this evening- Great fucking cover of Corona on it as well.
I'd trade in one of the Black Flag shows I saw to have seen the Minutemen. I missed them everytime they were here...and then no more.
Double Nickels on the dime baby, what a great LP.
It was only last year that I popped it in the deck on my way out I-10 West and flashed on a speed limit sign when it struck me what the title of that thing was about. Twenty years later ... guess I'm a little slow. :hat:
There's this Austin band named Damnations fronted by two chicks who nicely covered "corona" on one of their records recently.
I miss d. boon as well.
"The people will survive
in thier environment
the dirt,scarcity, and the emptiness
of our south
the injustices of our greed
the practice we merit
the dirt, scarcity and the emptiness of our south
I could see it in my eyes
there on the beach
I only had a corona
5 cent deposit."
I wish D. Boon were alive.
