art chantrySend art chantry a message :   the gorilla room was so dank that it didn't even have toilets anymore. you had to piss in the hole on the floor amid the shattered porcelean. i once saw a guy fall through the ceiling in the middle of a set by the untouchables (not the la band). the band didn't even notice.
the gorilla room was a wino bar that was re-decorated by the new punk owners by spray painting EVERYTHING black. even the garbage and bottles on the floor and the beer posters on the wall (they didn't bother to clean) and even the furniture and bar. after a while, as the black paint got scratched off and it took on the most amazing textural patina.
