PlantweedSend Plantweed a message :   Yeah, black metal as a self-proclaimed genre started with Bathory I think, around '86.
Slayer = primo death metal. But they were still kinda power metal for this tour.

MaximumFluorideSend MaximumFluoride a message :   There really wasn't even a style of music called Black Metal when this show happened. It was just a song title from Venom.
"true" Black Metal didn't really spring up till the late 80's early 90's.

1984 Black on bright green paper Offset 9.5" x 15"
"By mid-1984 Hugo had lost his Metropolis to downtown development. The tastes of the crowd had slipped deeper into darkness, allowing room for shows by 'black metal' bands with a heavy emphasis on studded leather and gothic horror. These shows were presented in rental halls."
