This is a sad time for these guys and it's so awesome that they are gonna keep on keepin' on.
R.I.P Michael "Mikey" Houser
For some reason this is about my favorite poster I've done yet...It just seems to have a nice flow and it was so spontanious.
Thanks everyone, Jeral and I jumped into this one and knocked it out in 2 days time, from concept to finished film. It turned out beautiful and the band loved it.
It's so sad about about Mikey. Living near Athens I grew to respect the band and what a musical force they had become. It is an honor doing work for them, because I truly feel they respect what I'm trying to do for them and their fans. Rare in today's world of "Rock Stars".
He will be missed, but the show must go on, and tomorrow I deliver the posters to the merch truck pulling out for the show in Colorado. This is one time I actually do not look forward to delivering the work. It will be very difficult, but Mikey insisted that the band carry on for the fans... now that's what it's all about.
It's a sad day in Athens....
if you care. heres a release from the band... a good guy... cancer sucks..
"In this very sad time, we encourage you to gather with your Panic families in your hometown and celebrate Michael Houser's life on Monday, August 12th. As a living memorial to Michael and his love of music, the family requests that contributions be made to The Michael Houser Music Fund. Mike, his wife Barbette, and his son Waker have all been deeply involved with Athens Academy and through this fund the school will be able to provide children with the opportunities to discover the richness and wonder of music that so enriched Michael's own life. Memorials may be sent to: The Michael Houser Music Fund; Athens Academy; PO Box 6548; Athens, GA 30604.
Our hearts are with you as we know that your thoughts and prayers are with us. "
RIP, Mikey Houser..... Widespread's guitarist, Mikey passed away Saturday after a battle with cancer.
Don't let Jeral make ya'll think he's not an art ninja himself.... he did this illustration in less than a day from concept to ink. Jeral is a dangerous man.....
Jeff Wood makes all of my shit work, the man is a genius...I send him a box of terds and...Wha La, like magic...he turns them into Golden eggs. I wouldn't even be doing this if it weren't for Jeff & Judy at DC and Dave Crosland for hookin' a brutha' up wit 'em.
Thanks, But I gotta say that Jeff Wood from Drowning Creek really deserves credit, all I did was give him an ink line and a crappy color sketch, He is the fukin' art ninja...I'm just a punk ass art hack.
Jeff, Thanks for making my shit look pro...I Love Ya Man... :-p
