I still haven't given her the motherlode of chocolate bark from Whole Foods as I took her out for a fancy brunch yeterday and I thought it would be over the top. I'll just keep that handy and when she notices the new addition I'll just hand her the chocolate rather than verbally address it.
I happened to have gone to this show when I lived in seattle. I just dug it out of a box and it is slightly yellowed from age. It opens up like a book with small adds for monster heads and other nick nacks you'd see in a 50's or 60's comic books or hot rod mag. anyone interested
art chantry, sorry for the confusion , i just figured since jamies dad is kingshit and all... anyway its fucking beautifull , I met owen a few times when slim was getting tattooed, and I know what ya mean about the gacey work, man i swear slim had soooooo many lucky breaks! you ever see the original von dutch sketch of jamie on a tricycle? blew my mind..(from when she was about 4 years old)and all those original fink decals they had made me good dough on my treck from WA, through Reno,Sac, SF,LA and back to AZ, (needed the gas money)
this is just an excellent poster, not only from the artistic design of it, but for the overall information design of 'er. it's a crowded page in a very pleasant way. it's busy but your eyes still go where they should.
supah-sharp, art. if poster-making was drafting, you'd be doing exploded views of transmissions while everyone else was fiddling with the locking ruler on their Vemcos.
i'm not sure what that means, but rest assured it's some sort of compliment.

yeah - puke green flames of hell (note the flames licking up at roth and dutch). hideous, eh?
the holy trinity - dutch the prophet, roth the evil jester god, williams the grand wizard. and make it look like an issue of hotrod or car craft magazine, dude. fukt.
In order to not disappoint anyone, we are becoming total whores too! So in this vein, I've talked Art into sticking one of these puppies up on Ebay today. :-D
yes, MY jamie put this up. but i knew the other jamie casually. 'slim' used to get tattooed by owen connell (my tattooist/pal)in seattle. i used to have this girlfriend (she went by a logo that was a triangle slash. her name was ashleigh) and she collected serial killer stuff (we both did). when she split seattle she sold all her gacy paintings and correspondence - incuding gac y cartoons - and even her genuine chunk of cement from ed gein's foundation to slim for like nothing. i wish i had known, i would have bought it. oh well.
Also: The color on this scan doesn't hold up well. Its a bright green that goes better with the bright yellow. Art's stuff is always better live, the ink colors just don't hold up to photographing, etc. If you have one you know what I mean.
was this submited by jamie whos dad owned the original place where roth, williams and von dutch?
did all their work? jamie ex wife of Los Hornets lead singer "Slim?" (who is also named on this poster?) ..if so..Jamie I still have all those pin ups I took of you !!! want em?
hehe :-D
i've always dug this poster except..... the green! it keeps drawing my eyes into it. i want to stare lovingly at daddy, robert and von dutch but.... the green!
See, i love this piece. Great layout and design.
Not only cuz it looks cool, but it brings together three main artists and a lot of other guys who's work I really respect.
