clay* i didn't even think about the 'gig' color but, yep, that's pretty much it. as for free posters....... if your going to 'flatstock' i'd dig to give you a few free posters as a 'thank you' for this site. shoot me a list of what you want.
jermaine* let me kno when you do. i'd dig to see what you come up with. currently i haven't had time to do both so i've just been in the 'bellefree' class. the assignments are more complex and the critiques are amazingly precise (...good shit maynard).
as for 'drawing the scrojo way'...when i get a chance i'll update it and let everyone kno.
Scrojo. thats pretty sweet. Im gonna go over there and maybe 'enroll', just for the 'honing'.
I had bookmarked 'Drawing the scrojo way' and would often send it to people as an efficient was to create seps in Illustrator (you so lovingly built a site that was easier to refer people to...rather than typing it all out in an email)...But the link stopped working, months ago.
there is also another 'class' that i'm taking:
http://pub36.ezboard.com/fbellefreefrm14
both these aren't so much traditional 'classes'. every other week an 'assignment' is posted and then it's up to the 'posters' to critique others work. does that make sence? there are some amazing artists on both sites but the people on the 'bellefree' site really go the extra mile to give intellegent/helpful advice. both are absolutely free.
Hell yeah, dood!
I've been going there for ages, but I've never contributed anything 'cuz I ain't got a scanner. And this was the first place I saw scrojo's work. He posted a SCOTS poster, and I encouraged him to come here.
Now thisss...
Truly fits the music and would hyp-mo-tize me. I would buy tickets, cds, and popcorn because of this poster.
Funny how he lifted the gigposters green for this...hmm
Yeah, this illo is good in ways I can't even comprehend. It's painfuly good. I am not a big fan of posters with "chicks" on them , but this is just WAY good.
Scrojo-- heres a 'slam'... I'm anxious to see your AMAZING illustrations become better integrated with the type. Great pallette. You do the sexiest women out there, I gots to say. Uh, draw the sexiest women anyway... Not 'do'. Well, I dunno.... nevermind.
*thanks everyone. for the praise and the death threats. both are greatly appreciated (...slams arn't minded either). this is another 'drawing class' that got lucky and fit. go figure.
totally geeky of me, but my first thought upon seeing this was "that would be really cool to blast across all the regional concert sites as a Flash ad with the blue flickering..."
i am now embarassed.
