rockologistSend rockologist a message :   aww shit...i think this is a bit different. there's a vast difference in taking an image and recontextualizing it and just taking an image. kozik's work usually makes some sort of commentary. my problem with the approach taken here, is that there are ways that something more original could've been done with this other than changing the colors from the original. make it relate to the band, make it relate to the town, make it do something. don't just take an image of another musician's album cover and put a new name on it. there's a couple of threads about this, but it seems only the same people read them.   2002-08-07 09:58:14

rockologistSend rockologist a message :   ok, so i don't know the whole story, but...is this NOT a rework of a sandro symeoni illustration, seen most recently on the cover of the mirageman album "thrilling"? hate to call this guy out, but with all the talk about using other people's artwork and all... :-? i mean, with robert jones' rework of kozik's NIN poster, there is a context for the parody, but here i just don't see it.   2002-07-29 17:45:39
phaserSend phaser a message :   it smacks of vertigo the movie poster. but its only cool if it silkscreened and not a pun. joking. ;-)   2002-07-29 07:59:28
