Unsane's visuals are never for the weak of heart. The Vandal-x cover still freaks me out. This poster is amazing, I'll have to stop in when Steve is printing it. Saputo is the master.
maybe the rondels in the corners push it too far. But this is very much in keeping with Unsane's established visual ethic. I think the beauty of poster art in general is that it's like David Lynch's version of "Dune:" we try to tell a story with as few explicit details as possible. All the linework and lettering is amazing.
"Judge, I promise you, the poster made me do it."
Plus, there is a difference between bondage and rape. The feet also could be the dead rapist after the woman took revenge. J'ever think 'bout that?????????
This poster is like a "Choose your own adventure" book.
"sigh. so much talent... glorifying rape and murder..."
Sure, it's not sunshine and rainbows, but this is Unsane's aesthetic. Granted, the victim is often male, but I think this fits, and it's masterfully executed. And Phoon is right...write yer own ending to this.
