Regarding the UFO debate: perhaps it's an older phenomenon currently cloaked in the guise of "extra-terrestials" and "science" because that represents the unknown in modern terms. There were airship scares with strange occupants across the states at the end of the 19th century, horse and cattle mutilations throughout recorded history, fairies and demons pre-industrial revolution (incubus and succubus are parallels to modern abductions in many ways). Jacques Valee's "Passport To Magonia" and Patrick Harpur's "Daimonic Reality" are good books summarising this approach to modern paranormal ideas. One of those areas the more you delve into, the less sense it makes.

Canadian rapper Buck 65 recounts Zecharia Sitchin's interpretation in two recordings. The first is called "Nibiru" from the Sebutones album 50/50 Where It Counts, a collaboration with Sixtoo. The second is called "Giants" from the album Music Has Its Way With Me, a collaboration with jazz drummer Jerry Granelli. In addition, a lengthy audio clip of Sitchin from Art Bell's Coast to Coast AM radio show is featured on the album Man Overboard.

In 1976, Zecharia Sitchin, claiming to translate and interpret Sumerian cuneiform texts, published the first of his books, The Twelfth Planet, in which he described in detail the technological wonders and knowledge of the ancient civilization of Sumeria. Sitchin asserts that the Anunnaki, an ancient group of extraterrestrials who interacted with the Sumerians, may have brought advanced technology to their civilization.

The Anunnaki (also transcribed as: Anunnaku, Ananaki) are a group of Sumerian and Akkadian deities related to, and in some cases overlapping with, the Annuna (the 'Fifty Great Gods') and the Igigi (minor gods). The name is variously written "da-nuna", "da-nuna-ke4-ne", or "da-nun-na", meaning something to the effect of 'those of royal blood'[1] or 'princely offspring'[2]. According to later Babylonian myth, the Anunnaki were the children of Anu and Ki, brother and sister gods, themselves the children of Anshar and Kishar (Skypivot and Earthpivot, the Celestial poles). Anshar and Kishar were the children of Lahm and Lahmu ("the muddy ones"), names given to the gatekeepers of the Abzu temple at Eridu, the site at which the Creation was thought to have occurred. The head of the Anunnaki council was the Great Anu, (rather than being just a sky god, Anu in Sumerian actually means "sky"), of Uruk and the other members were his offspring. His place was taken by Enlil, (En=lord, lil=wind,air), who at some time was thought to have separated heaven and earth. This resulted in an ongoing dispute between Enlil of Nippur and his half brother Enki of Eridu regarding the legitimacy of Enlil's assumption of leadership. Enki, (En=lord, Ki=Earth), in addition to being the God of fresh water, was also God of wisdom and magic, regarded by some as an alchemist. When the Igigi went on strike and refused to continue to work maintaining the universe, on the Shappatu (Hebrew. shabbat, Eng. sabbath) Enki created humankind to assume responsibility for the tasks the Gods no longer performed.

Quite possibly the cow is extinct in the future that our time travelers come from. Maybe the time travelers believe that these cows hold some kinda of secret that will benefit their civilization, ie maybe they are in dire need of red meat or something of that nature.

Interesting point Dusty, but bring it back to time travel and cows... why abduct/mutilate cattle?
I offer that it isn't necessarily time travel but dimensional travel. might be the same thing to some people but I think at some point we get so advanced that time becomes irrelevant.

Perhaps that the time travelers have come to collect DNA from an earlier civilization in order because of corruption of DNA in the future. Perhaps 1000 years, 10000 years, 100000 years, into the future Human DNA has become faulty and unrepairable. The species only option is to time travel back far enough before the beginnings of the DNA corruption occurred.
