Timothy J.Send Timothy J. a message :   Yea Charlie I agree with you on this. Its like a Willie Nelson swan song poster. I wasnt sure how it would grow on me. Im prejudiced cause Ive gotten to know Jermaine and like the stuff he does so I definitely went loopy on the great painting. The overall poster just seems so right to me, now. But I had no ham. :-)   2002-07-19 13:53:07
Bradley W. ZimmermanSend Bradley W. Zimmerman a message :   dear charlie, might i suggest you switch to roast beef? The pork is strong with you, and you have have an imbalance of meat humors.

uncle charlieSend uncle charlie a message :   now that i look at this deal after a ham sandwhich, i've been able to process the "other side" if you will on the vibe behind the eyes no eyes thing. and I must say its held me in a different light. dark yet mysterious. ancient yes, relentness noooo.. more enduring. more attractive than relentless.. willie does seem souless right now.. ive had that feeling about willie for some time now. hell even Kinky wrote about "something wrong" a few years back in his book about willie. yes, jermaine you hit the perverbial nail on the head of this one brother. with out a doubt.. go see willie, see what i'm talkin about.. hell listen to "rainbow collection" and he plays the rainbow collection. you know the song kermit sang. and he sounds like a fuckin ghost..i got very strange vibes. and a ham sandwhich vision of your type element now leads me to conclude it is simply a statement of "todays' poster artist..it percieves the vibe of poster art "today" and thats a "now" thing. so in that respect on those two issues, your poster could not be more perfect..   2002-07-19 12:14:52
peekskill avengerSend peekskill avenger a message :   I kinda like the no eyes thing. It really creates a different atmosphere for Willie, Ill say that. But its a good thing to me. To me it makes Willie look ancient. Like relentless. It works for me.   2002-07-19 09:28:24
uncle charlieSend uncle charlie a message :   J,
to me the eyes are more the window into the soul rather than a metaphor for singular personality. Here he seems as though he is "souless" which to me is complete opposite of Willie, as you know. The painting style is groovy but like I said earlier the text could be rendered differently to enhance or shine a light on the painting more. It would be cool to have no text over the painting and in a different font with some texture to match the illustration style..Keep rolling these out though dude, your on to something here I think is very cool..

MaximumFluorideSend MaximumFluoride a message :   J,
I really like the use of your paintings for posters. The bears are awesome..way awesome. Thats not the issue. This doesn't really seem to represent Willie Nelson very well. At least not what I think of as Willie Nelson. I'm not sure I'm in love with the teal color of the lettering either. The technique is killer. I think your definetly on to something with this style.
But what do I know. Thats just what I think.

uncle charlieSend uncle charlie a message :   four color process silk screen printing.. use an eliptical dot on your film output and run at about 48 lpi.. Arminski does four screen printing and it works quite well..   2002-07-18 08:40:49
JGexSend JGex a message :   Love where you're going with your painting style.... I bet separating this was fun!
The no eyes thing kinda creeps me out, tho... eyes are the window to the soul.....

PediniSend Pedini a message :   Dude, how can this possibly be screenprinted?
I really like this illustration, Jermaine. It does make Willy look like the undead, but I understand your reasoning for leaving out the eyes. I think that maybe the text is too much, it is stuggling with the image. Just some thoughts...

Mr FrumpySend Mr Frumpy a message :   Jermaine I couldve picked this as your work ;-) Youre already developing a style thats recognisable. Damn you.... damn you to Stretched Letterland. Very cool dude. Are you offsetting em or attempting silkscreen.... am curious with this. Mister Reusch 's work has inspired me already... and this too is helping me to my goal. Well done man. heres some eyes for willie    2002-07-18 05:02:07
JermaineSend Jermaine a message :   Max...get back to me on this one in a couple days. Im curious as to whether I should keep going in this direction...   2002-07-18 03:18:06

MaximumFluorideSend MaximumFluoride a message :   J, I'm not really into this one... I'll look at it some more but at first glance..hmmmm   2002-07-17 23:45:47
JermaineSend Jermaine a message :   At this point, Willie's not really a 'person' to me...hes like a force of nature. 'Eyes' convey singular personality...so i painted none. Also, it looked real cool. ;-)   2002-07-17 22:54:14
