Dan, I respectfully disagree. This type, albeit small, does not compete with the image. It does its job. It very clearly and easily tells you who is playing and where. The image is compelling enough. No need to do something crazy with the type. |

I have one gripe, which doesn't involve tan, or birds, or even this poster specifically...
It is time for a moratorium on type, in lines at the bottom, separated by little bars. Like this. Way way too many of the good posters going up here use this specific type solution. I'm not talking about posters by hobbyists and dabblers. I'm talking about skilled, experienced designers I respect, people who produce lots of quality work, at a high level of craft.
This kind of type treatment takes otherwise compelling design and makes it look phoned-in.
There, I said it.
