For the record (since it was mentioned on the Cold War Kids poster), I did a shirt for Elliot when he was known as "Satchel Paige" (or Satchill Page) with Bodoni Poster Italic, so that was also on my mind when I did this.

Thanks, guys. I feel pretty good about this one. Here's the science behind it (from my flickr thingee): "Poster for my man Elliot Walsh bka Ness aka Nestor Wynrush aka Trinidad Jackson (his latest moniker). Yes, he's an emcee, no, he doesn't play guitar. The guitar thing stems from a conversation after seeing The Dirtbombs slay the Pyramid stage. He toyed with the idea of performing with a guitar, but not playing it. That kinda stuck with me. I told him my idea for this thing, and he wasn't sure about it. He likes it now. :) This show is a benefit for CancerCare Manitoba, by the way." Also, the background are graphite smudges from a previous project, and I had Capitol Records on my mind, hence the color scheme. Originally, I was gonna do an album cover spoof, but this worked out better.
