very cool indeed.the only thing i'd say was slightly out is the "engine down" lettering. i know its supposed to be shabby lookin but i think its too shabby, i think it would've looked cooler if they'd gone with the stencil idea but sharpened it up more.
yeah, great poster. i just noticed though that the band combat wounded veteran is "combat wound veteran" on the poster. i hate it when shit like that happens. i always do it!
This is very nice...the waves on the top along with the sky/white space bring the 2 sides, as nolen mentioned, together. So, Its split but has cohesive elements that your example poster does not. Very nice poster.
I just realized, looking at this again, another part of why I like it. It does something so few posters can do... all the type is on one side, the "art" (or the main focus of it) is on the other ...and it WORKS. I've tried to do that before ad it never did. Usually when I think of "type on one side/image on the other" I think of posters like this
http://www.gigposters.com/posters.php?poster=2541 (not to pick on/single out this one for any reason, it's just the first one I thought of) which just seem...too easily done... I guess the white carrying over the top helps some.. anyway...awesome poster I must say again.
hey captin, even better than the earlier sketches...you guys make me sick. Or make me wanna push myself harder. Yeah it does remind me of old paperback covers. what a WEIRD line-up for the show...maybe worth comig up for
