Extremely good friends of mine. I'm giving them all your email addresses so they can spam you! Super nice guys down to the bone. True buddies. They used to rule. Hunger is amazing and still one of my favorite albums of all time. I don't care for the new stuff either.
yeah. the makers have certainly taken a strange turn. i've got their latest and give it a spin from time to time... but nothing beats the early stuff.
a+ poster aa.
uh let's see...their tongue in cheek 'assholism' rock 'tude went over very well with all the schmucks, now they believe their own press.
It will be funny in a few short years when they lose their looks and are like bagging groceries for a living.
Patience, Art, patience.......
i used to love this band - they were amazing in the old style. i guess we were friends, but you wouldn't know that now from interviews. they have totally turned their backs on their old style and spend time dissing estrus and everybody's efforts to promote them as 'holding them back'. from what? from the lame junk they're doing now? i don't get it. please explain it. pretty please...
The Makers succeeded in confusing the shit out everyone who were into them by glamming out, and now what? Great poster, very Lichtenstein, but may border on false advertising.
They played a lame show here and then started a massive bar brawl... ended up getting their asses kicked and kicked out of town to boot. Now that's Rock n Roll!
The Makers are real good friends of mine and they stay at my house when they come through LA. I'm baffled as well. Hunger was so fucking amazing. And live they used to rip. All things must pass I guess. We had a big ass party here after the gig at the Troubadour and everyone danced all night to Otis Redding and the Small Faces! That was a great time. Hopefully attendance and record sales might steer em' back?
I hate the Makers. Always have. When were they ever good? Jeff K did a sweet design for their CD but the cd itself is ass. You'd think with this much talent making them look good they'd return the favour.
Sweet poster. I saw this thumbnail and again knew right away who did it.
Talk about guys kicking ass, it's AA.
well, having worked a long long time with this band, and being very involved with the development of their 'image' (they made it incredibly easy, they were so perfectly defined already), i've got to go on record as being totally stumped, maybe even a little miffed by the path they've chosen. sub pop, bad 'prince' glam, lead singer syndrome, etc. just don't get it as a career move. look at all of the acts getting coverage in time magazine doing exactly what the makers did for years (only better) and try to figure my they abaned a perfect formula for, what? fame and fortune? boy, talk about bad decision at the worst possible moment! they managed to completely alienate their old fan base, and attract absolutely no new fan base in the process. sorta like professional suicide. very punk, i guess...
vic, mike, donny - if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
It's like, I don't mind when a band changes, but this definitely wasn't a change for the better. There's no soul in what they do now...to me that is. "Hunger" is their last good album.
So, Chloe...does Mike have "roman hands"? ;-)
i made out with the singer. man did their last album fuckin' blow.
hey makers glam is lame.
yr garage shit was good and now u stink.
great poster though.
aa rock my world.
