i was just thinking about how fucked up the whole the corta vita situation was in montreal...i wasn't at the show, but i remember hearing about it for weeks afterwards. truly bizarre. very sad either way, indeed.
this poster is full of sadness cause after 2 kids in compromise died, tcv broke up due to the front man allegedly raping someone
no idea if it's true but the rumours killed the band dead
either way it's fucked.
well, a real sad thing about this poster... one of these bands, Compromise, a Canadian hardcore band, was in an accident while touring through Alabama. I think the accident happened last night or the night before. Two of the members were killed and the news of this accident has spread quickly through what is a pretty small scene. My condolences to you guys.
If you appreciate good cheesy comic book printing, check out old Charlton comics from the 60's-early 70's. The were printed on a used press that was designed to make cereal boxes. You were guaranteed at least one ink spatter per issue and the paper was so cheap it seemed like it had been stored in a damp corner of some tenement.
For some reason, they make me smile.
I have a real serious theory that
using 'current' pop culture icons rarely works. Unless they are from Japan or something.
I think that 'pop icon' only works after a filter of nostalgic time has worked it's magic on our subconcious.
Like, if this was an *old* 1960's crude spiderman, it would be cool.
This just bites.
