Hi. This is Chris from 'The Special Purpose'. First off, Sei Rey thought of this poster after going to one of our shows and enjoying our cover of the theme from Super Mario Brothers. I can guarantee that he never saw whatever magazine is in question till well after this poster was completed. Believe it or not, some artists still rely on good old fashioned inspiration and not design magazines to come up with their ideas, and what the fuck is wrong with paying homage to great pop culture icons/visuals in your posters anyway??? This is a gorgeous, simple, effective, cool little poster that is a bit of an inside joke to those who know the band…haters can suck it.
So wait...using someone's pixel art from a collection of font dingbats from a video game is totally, completely different than lifting art from a video game?
HEAD ASPLODE.
It's a coincidence. Get over yourself.

1) You DONT know me, this is the internet douchetard
2) Those monsters are from a typeface, not the cover of Grafik magazine
3) After collaborating with Seripop, Zeloot and Duval, I couldn't give a shit what you think
Thanks for your interest!
Hypocrates? He was a Greek physician born in 460 BC on the island of Cos, Greece. He became known as the founder of medicine and was regarded as the greatest physician of his time. He rejected the views of his time that considered illness to be caused by superstitions and by possession of evil spirits and disfavor of the gods.
I think what Sariyevo is saying is that he appreciates you ill mokes straightening his shit out.
Fantasy Fudge in a Cloud
------------------------
1 (8 inch) prepared yellow cake, cut into cubes
1 (3.4 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1 C. milk
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 (8 oz.) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
3 ripe bananas
1 1/4 C. chocolate fudge sauce
1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
In a medium bowl, combine pudding mix and milk; beat until creamy. Add cream cheese and beat until fluffy; fold in 1/2 whipped topping and set aside.
In a large punch bowl, layer 1/3 of cake cubes; spread 1/3 of pudding mixture on top. Continue layering with 1/3 of bananas, 1/3 of pecans and 1/3 cup fudge sauce.
Repeat layering with 1/3 of cake and 1/3 of pudding mixture; add 1/2 of cherries, 1/3 of bananas, 1/3 of pecans and 1/3 cup fudge sauce.
Repeat layers for a final time with remaining cake, pudding mixture, cherries, bananas and fudge sauce, reserving 1/3 of pecans for garnish.
Top with remaining whipped topping, drizzle with remaining 1/4 cup fudge sauce, and garnish with reserved pecans.
Refrigerate 4 hours; serve.
mmm...eichelburger. Does that come with onions?
Regarding the poster...I thought lifting stuff was PUNK. If you're not drawing, it's all just scrap-booking anyway, right?
There are only two clouds on this one. And blue is the color of the sky so color was kind of obvious. And techically the other one was a rip off too if you want to get picky.
i only log off for 20 minutes and when i get back we're in the midst of a new eichelberger crisis?
i think i'll go back to look at the lesbo porn poster
you fools need to hit that link in the middle of these comments and compare what homebody did here. it's a direct lift. if we are going to hang the ames bros, we're gonna hang this guy too.
When I saw this, my first thought was the video installation I saw at the Whitney that had a hacked Mario Bros. game that just played the music and showed the clouds moving along, much like this poster.
I don't think it's a direct lift, more like the same cultural zeitgeist.
I ain't gonna join the lynch mob yet. Pixel art is kinda commonplace nowadays. I don't see the same clouds on that book (at least I think I don't). For now, I'm saying "coincidence".
its obvious this is commentary on the state of modern computer graphic design vs traditional methods. It juxtaposes a slick pixel art graphic design magazine cover with rudimentary printing techniques to make its point, even addresses the eichelburger question, right?
If you're going to steal, don't steal from a magazine that other designers read:

That's outrageous
yeah, this is def. Ripe poster. I'd only talk shit about posting twice if the concept+execution were crap. Yeah, definately post the real pic from now on. Nice fingernails.
Heh heh... If I posted every concept, my poster count would be in the triple digits.
I run about 7:1 - ideas:execution. But I do like this poster. You should sell me one.
