For a number of the posters I've done this year(actually, any of the ones I've done for The Royal Albert, except the Neil Hamburger one), I've given both color and black n' white versions to the client, and I post the color one here, plus local online message boards. If it was a straight up one-color thang, I'd put that up here, too.
wow i guess i didn't see it that way. the poster does exist, but for right now, only monochromatically. i do send the color version to the venue at the same time. if i sell any poster, it's always the color version that i created. i can see how this is causing an issue. some day i will get to the point where i'll be able to print them out how i want, i'm just not there yet. does that make sense?
I'm not going to point any fingers but i think it's kind of common knowlege that a lot of the guys on here that do street posters regularly submit color or slightly colored versions in their jpgs.
Personally i don't care enough to have a problem with it, but i understand the "beef".
yeah you can't really post something that doesn't exist. i could repost all my fliers in color but that's .... uh.... how do you say "fucked up" in English? If it's a flier it's a flier.
it doesn't, because doug fir would never get it printed like that i guess. i felt guilty only submitting the black and white versions to GP, because a color version would give something more to look at. but the b&w version still stands up just as well. if i had the resources i would personally print everything out the way they should be myself, but i'm not up to that stage yet unfortunately!
ok, i have a slight beef
i saw this poster when it came back from the printer, its one color on green paper.
i think there is a tendency for artists to submit posters as they would like them to appear versus how they are actually printed,
i am guilty of this as well (see my bonaroo poster) i think this version more dynamic than the printed poster, but does it actually exist on paper?
